Quitting smoking can seem like a huge hurdle

No comments :
Even after a potentially lifesaving procedure
like angioplasty, quitting smoking can seem
like a huge hurdle.
Faced with a list of changes that might
include quitting smoking and giving up some
of the foods you love, it’s easy to become
frustrated and even resentful. But there’s
help available, and many compelling reasons
to give up smoking once and for all, starting
with living a longer life.
Researchers in the Netherlands followed a
group of more than 800 people who had an
angioplasty procedure for 30 years after to
determine the benefits of smoking cessation.
According to their study, which was published
in the November 2013 issue of the American
Journal of Cardiology, people who quit had a
life expectancy that was at least two years
longer than those who continued to smoke.
Granted, quitting smoking isn’t easy, says
Clark Fuller, MD, director of thoracic surgery
at ProvidenceSaint John’s Health Center in
Santa Monica, California. and a smoking
cessation expert. “It helps if you understand
the role your smoking habit played in your
heart disease and the part it will continue to
play if you don’t quit,” Dr. Fuller says.
Cigarette smoke is harmful to heart
health because it can narrow your blood
vessels and lead to plaque build-up — the
reason you needed an angioplasty in the first
place.
Continuing to smoke means the problem still
exists, Fuller says.
Quitting Smoking After Angioplasty
Here are strategies that can help you stop
smoking after you’ve had an angioplasty
procedure:
Follow through with cardiac rehab. If you
were referred to a cardiac rehabilitation
program to improve your heart health after
angioplasty, be sure to attend all of the
sessions.
Your cardiac rehab team can help you identify
your risk factors for a repeat blockage,
including smoking, and show you ways to
reduce all those risks, including help with
smoking cessation.
Join a smoking cessation support
group. Double up on your non-smoking efforts
by joining a support group. You may be able
to quit smoking on your own for the first
month or so after your angioplasty procedure
because you’re highly motivated, Fuller says.
But as time goes on, it can become more
difficult to stay away from cigarettes. That’s
when joining a smoking cessation support
group may be most helpful.
Ask your doctor for smoking cessation
medications. Some people find that nicotine
replacement medications, whether in gum,
spray, or patch form, help them with quitting
smoking.
These aids work by gradually decreasing the
amount of nicotine you’re getting and
reducing the headaches and irritability that are
likely side effects of your efforts to quit.
Be sure you know exactly how to use the
medication to get the most benefit, and
continue to work closely with your doctor to
reach your quit-smoking goal.
Decide whether to go “cold turkey” or quit
gradually. Fuller believes quitting smoking
“cold turkey” is best. However, some people
find it’s easier to gradually cut down on the
number of times they smoke in a day,
eventually getting to zero. Focus on your
progress, even if it’s just going from four
packs a day to two to one, says Robert
Applegate, MD, a professor of cardiology and
an interventional cardiologist at Wake Forest
Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C. Then
go from one pack to a half-pack, and don’t
give up until you’ve gone from a half to
none.
Plan your “quit day.” Get out the calendar
and circle a day within the next week that
will be your “quit day.
” Prepare for your quit day by writing out a
list of what you’ll do instead of reaching for
a cigarette. Remove triggers, such as ashtrays
and lighters, that will make you want to
smoke.
Pick rewards you’ll allow yourself for every
day that goes by without smoking.
Find ways to deal with urges.
Smoking is a habit that leaves you craving
nicotine, so when you quit, be ready to
experience withdrawal.
You’ll be more successful at quitting if you
identify what triggers your urges to light up
and develop strategies to overcome them.
Some people find that keeping their hands or
their minds busy helps, whether that’s taking
up a hobby or grabbing a book or a crossword
puzzle.
Others find that chewing gum or sucking on a
piece of candy can quell their urges.
Identify strategies that will work for you and
then put your plan into action.
Remember that continuing to smoke will limit
the health benefits of your angioplasty.
Putting a quitting-smoking plan into action
will take the same discipline as changing your
eating habits and starting an exercise plan,
but better heart health and a longer life are
worthy payoffs.

What you should know about Chronic Fatigue

No comments :
While some symptoms of cancer can be rather
obvious and deeply concerning, other
symptoms can be much less noticeable and
alarming. Listed in this article are nine cancer
symptoms that people often ignore.
Although general fatigue is commonly
associated with the daily grind of life, extreme
fatigue that doesn’t seem to go away can
potentially be a cause for great concern.
According to the American Cancer Society,
chronic fatigue, or fatigue that can’t be
remedied by sleep, can be a sign of leukemia,
colon cancer, or cancer of the stomach. It is
worth noting, as a means to avoid fear-
mongering, that chronic fatigue or any issue
documented in this list is merely a possible
symptom of cancer, not a formal diagnosis.

Facial Care Tips

No comments :
Everyone wants to have that perfect, glowing
skin we see in the movies, but dirt, pollution
and the sun make it impossible for us to get
that flawless face. Not anymore. We bring
you the perfect guide to facial skin care. With
these simple steps, and a little care and love,
you can get the skin of your dreams:
Know your skin type
To make sure you are applying the proper face
care products, you need to know your skin
type. Remember that your facial skin differs
from the skin on the rest of your body. Get
your facial skin analyzed to find you whether
its oily, dry, sensitive or normal.
Cleanse
The most important rule of facial skin care is
cleaning. It helps remove dirt, pollution and
dead cells from your facial skin. Choose face
cleansers that suit your skin type, and cleanse
your face twice a day.
Moisturize
Using a moisturizer will help you restore the
moisture your facial skin has lost. Include
moisturizer in your daily facial beauty
care regime to make your facial skin supple,
glowing and prevent wrinkling. If you have
oily skin, get a moisturizer made especially
for oily face treatment.
Exfoliate
Exfoliation is also one of the most important
things when it comes to facial beauty care.
It’ll help you remove dead cells and bring
out soft, glowing facial skin. For everyday
use, go for exfoliants that provide natural
facial care, rather than going for chemicals.
Save it from the sun
The sun is one of the major reasons for skin
troubles, causing tanning, wrinkles, even
melanoma. So every time you go out in the
sun, select a facial skin care product with SPF
to protect your face from the sun.
Protect the eyes
A lot of people tend to overlook the area
around their eyes while using facial treatment,
resulting in dark circles and puffy eyes. It is
important to protect your eyes and use the
right products for them. Use the eye creams
available in the market, or natural treatments
like cucumber slices.
Watch what you eat
What you eat directly affects what your facial
skin looks like; simply using facial care
products is not enough. So if you want
healthy, clear skin, avoid oily, greasy food.
Include lots of fruits and vegetables in your
meals. Also keep your body hydrated at all
times.
Listen to the experts
If you have extremely sensitive facial skin, or
have an acne problem, don’t try to treat it
yourself. Visit an expert and follow his advice,
since he knows what he is talking about.
Ignoring the problem or treating it wrongly
might make it worse. Give priority to natural
facial care treatments.
Use the right product
Use facial skin care products from a branded
company, rather than going for cheap
chemicals. If you want to save money
on facial skin care, go for natural substitutes.
Be consistent
You won’t get the perfect skin you’ve
wanted if you are not consistent and regular
with your facial treatments. Your skin needs
constant efforts and love, so take time out for
proper facial skin care every day.

What Causes High Blood Pressure?

No comments :
High Blood Pressure is also known as Hypertension.
It is a serious health condition that affects at least
one out of three adults in the United States. It is
even more serious because it hardly ever gives a
warning sign or symptoms, thereby making it
difficult for people who are affected to know until it
is too late. In some cases, it leads to sudden death.
High Blood Pressure can however be managed or
prevented but to do so, it is important to understand
what high blood pressure really is, and what causes
high blood pressure.
What is High Blood Pressure?
High Blood Pressure is when the force of blood
pushing the artery walls is increased and as a
result, causes the heart to work harder than it really
should. The heart is responsible for pumping blood
into the arteries, from where it is circulated
throughout the whole body.
But when a person suffers from high blood pressure,
the heart has to work harder to circulate blood and
this may eventually lead to other problems like
hardening of the arteries or heart failure.
How to Detect High Blood Pressure
High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) is usually
referred to as a silent killer. This is because of its
lack of symptoms unlike other health problems
where there are usually several tell-tale signs to help
patients detect or suspect that there might be a
problem somewhere. Patients with high blood
pressure hardly know that they are suffering from
the disease until it becomes too late.
However, you can prevent sudden death caused by
hypertension through early detection and constant
monitoring. A regular blood pressure reading can
help you detect high blood pressure early.
A Blood pressure reading would usually contain two
numbers, a numerator and a denominator. The
numerator (the top number) is known as the
Systolic, while the denominator (the bottom
number) is known as the Diastolic.
A person with a blood pressure reading of 120/80
can be said to have a normal pressure while a blood
pressure reading of between 120-130 /80-89 indicates
that the person is in a pre-hypertensive stage and
may eventually suffer from hypertension if serious
measures are not immediately taken. Any blood
pressure reading above that may be an indication
that a person is suffering from Hypertension.
However, for older people a blood pressure reading of
over 140/90 indicates high blood pressure.
It is advisable to visit your doctor regularly for a
blood pressure reading to ensure early detection,
prevention and management of high blood pressure.
What Causes High Blood Pressure?
1. Primary Hypertension: This is also called
essential hypertension. This type of
hypertension has no specific, identifiable cause
and is sometimes said to be caused by
environmental, genetics and age factors.
Majority of people who suffer from
hypertension suffer from this type of
hypertension.
2. Secondary Hypertension: Secondary
hypertension is usually caused by another
medical condition which the patient may
already be suffering from. For instance, some
women develop secondary hypertension during
pregnancy. Secondary hypertension would
usually go away when the underlying
condition is treated.
Other causes of hypertension include:
Alcohol Abuse: Excessive drinking of alcohol
can raise the blood pressure to unhealthy levels
overtime and cause hypertension. The calories
in alcohol can also lead to excessive weight
gain, which is another common cause of
hypertension.
Illegal Drugs: Some illegal drugs like Cocaine,
Amphetamines and Acetaminophen can also
affect the blood pressure.
Medications: Taking of some medications such
as anti-depressants, caffeine, birth control
pills, migraine medications, anti-inflammatory
drugs and nasal decongestants can also
increase blood pressure.
Birth Defects: Sometimes, a person may suffer
from high blood pressure due to defects in their
blood vessels. This type of hypertension is can
be traced to a person’s genes.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Another major cause
of secondary hypertension is a health condition
known as Obstructive Sleep Apnea. It is a
sleeping disorder that causes shortness/
cessation of breath during sleep.
Obesity: Being Overweight or Obese can also
cause a person to develop Hypertension. Excess
fat in the body would require extra oxygen and
nutrients and since it is the heart’s job to
supply these nutrients, it has to overwork
itself to achieve this, thereby leading to
increase in blood pressure.
Poor Diet: High Blood Pressure may also be
caused by a poor diet. When a person
consumes too much sodium, caffeinated drinks
or fatty foods, there are risks of developing
high blood pressure.
Sedentary Lifestyle: Another major cause of
high blood pressure is living a sedentary
lifestyle characterized by low levels of physical
activity or no physical activities at all.
Age: A person may also develop hypertension
as they age. The risks of a person developing
hypertension would actually increase as they
grow older.
Smoking: People who smoke are also at a risk
of developing high blood pressure. The nicotine
contents in cigarettes may cause the arteries to
become narrow and hardened. This stresses the
heart out and eventually leads to hypertension.
Vitamin Deficiencies: Vitamin D deficiency is
yet another factor that may lead to
hypertension. Researchers have discovered that
people with lower levels of Vitamin D are at a
higher risk of developing hypertension.
Chronic Kidney diseases as well as thyroid and
adrenal problems may also cause hypertension.
Click on the arrow below to read how you can
control High Blood Pressure.

How to Control Hypertension without Drugs
Hypertension can be controlled or even cured by
taking some measures to reduce the causative
factors. Some of the steps that you can take in order
to cure hypertension without necessarily taking
medications include:
1. Lose Weight: If you are overweight or obese,
shedding a few pounds might go a very long
way in helping you cure high blood pressure.
2. Increase Physical Activity: One of the major
causes of high blood pressure is living a
sedentary lifestyle therefore increasing your
levels of physical activity can go a long way
in decreasing your blood pressure. You should
make it a goal to try to get at least 30 minutes
of exercise daily.
3. Improve on Your diet: Another step to take is
to improve on your eating habits. Focus on
eating foods that are high in fibre, vegetables
and potassium and avoid foods that have high
cholesterol or sodium levels.
4. Reduce Consumption of Alcohol: Excessive
consumption of alcohol also has negative
impact on your blood pressure therefore you
should try to reduce or completely avoid
consumption of alcohol.
5. Quit Smoking: Lastly, if you are a smoker,
you should try to quit your smoking habits to
avoid ingestion of high amounts of nicotine,
which affects the arteries and causes
hypertension.

How To Get Younger Women To Notice You After 50

No comments :
Older men are making a
comeback. Mark my words.
Just look at Robert Downey
Jr and George Clooney ,
they’re in their prime and
women can’t stop swooning
over them. These men are
well into their years but keep
getting better looking as each
year passes. What’s their
secret? And how can
regular men like you and I
make it work for us?
Two weeks ago I met up with
Mark Tomlinson. I heard so
much about this man through
several forums that I had to
meet him to see if the claims
were true. The word was that
he’s 64 years old and doesn’t
look a day over 40.
After a few email exchanges
we met at a coffee shop off
Randolph St. in Chicago,
Illinois. It was true. He did
not look 64 at all. I couldn’t
believe the man I was talking
to looked younger than me,
and I’m 53 years old! When
we ordered our coffees I got
offered the senior discount
and he didn’t...
After a good laugh, he said
“hey I wish I could save 50
cents on my cup! Instead I
pay full price because when I
ask I always end up having
an awkward conversation
with the barista who doesn’t
believe how old I am”.
After a few minutes of staring
in disbelief, I asked the
question: “What’s your
secret?!”
He laughed. “Well, I don’t tell
very many people my secret
because it’s kind of
embarrassing, but I actually
use something I found in my
wife’s nightstand” he
continued “Her name is Pam,
she has the patience to spend
countless hours scouring the
internet, magazines and
doctor-based talk shows to
find out what products all the
celebrities are using and
what actually works.. she
follows Oprah’s Favorite
Things religiously!”
I couldn’t agree more. It
made sense. “What did you
use?” I asked. Containing my
excitement was a daunting
task.“I began to religiously
use a product called LifeCell
All-in-One Anti Aging
Treatment. My wife has been
using it for 10 years and still
looks just as beautiful as the
day we met, so I figured what
the heck? Let’s give it a shot.
And guess what? I’ve never
looked back. It has absolutely
everything you need to look
younger. Dermatologists
swear by it and recommend
it to their patients”
After my afternoon with
Mark, I decided to do some
more research into what
LifeCell was all about. I found
that this All-in-One Anti
Aging Treatment was
formulated to reverse the
look of wrinkles and sagging
skin with a patented scientific
cocktail of youth preserving
ingredients that had
undergone years of clinical
and government testing that
plastic surgeons don’t want
the public to know about.
LifeCell is made up of
carefully sourced amounts of
Vitamin C, DMAE and Retinol
that work together to reverse
the signs of aging.
Mark told us that after just
two weeks of using LifeCell,
people at his firm were
asking if he had “got some
work done”. By the 4th week,
everyone was convinced he
was using more than just
skin care products.
Mark purchased his LifeCell
Anti-Aging Treatment directly
from the manufacturer. They
offer a 120-Day Money Back
Guarantee. Something we've
never heard before! Upon
hearing about the story being
written up about Mark and
his results, LifeCell offered a

Benefits of eating Fish

No comments :
Fish is among the healthiest
foods on the planet.
It is loaded with important
nutrients, such as protein
and vitamin D.
Fish is also the world’s
best source of omega-3 fatty
acids, which are incredibly
important for your body and
brain.
Here are some benefits
1. Fish is High in Important Nutrients
That Most People Don’t Get Enough
of
Generally speaking, all types of fish are good for
you.
They are high in many nutrients that most people
aren’t getting enough of.
This includes high-quality protein, iodine and
various vitamins and minerals.
However, some fish are better than others, and the
fatty types of fish are considered the healthiest .
That’s because fatty fish (like salmon, trout,
sardines, tuna and mackerel) are higher in fat-based
nutrients.
This includes the fat-soluble vitamin D, a nutrient
that most people are deficient in. It functions like a
steroid hormone in the body.
Fatty fish are also much higher in omega-3 fatty
acids. These fatty acids are crucial for your body and
brain to function optimally, and are strongly linked
to reduced risk of many diseases ( 1 ).
To meet your omega-3 requirements, eating fatty
fish at least once or twice a week is recommended.
2. Fish May Lower Your Risk of Heart
Attacks and Strokes
Heart attacks and strokes
are the two most common
causes of premature death in
the world
Fish is generally considered
to be among the best foods you can eat for a
healthy heart.
Not surprisingly, many large observational studies
have shown that people who eat fish regularly seem
to have a lower risk of heart attacks, strokes and
death from heart disease.
In one study of more than 40,000 male health
professionals in the US, those who regularly ate 1
or more servings of fish per week had a 15% lower
risk of heart disease
Researchers believe that the fatty types of fish are
even more beneficial for heart health, because of
their high amount of omega-3 fatty acids.
3. Fish Contains Nutrients That Are
Crucial During Development
Omega-3 fatty acids are absolutely essential for
growth and development.
The omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
is especially important, because it accumulates in
the developing brain and eye ( 8 ).
For this reason, it is often recommended that
expecting and nursing mothers make sure to eat
enough omega-3 fatty acids ( 9 ).
However, there is one caveat with recommending fish
to expecting mothers. Some fish is high in mercury,
which ironically is linked to brain developmental
problems.
For this reason, pregnant women should only eat
fish that are low in the food chain (salmon,
sardines, trout, etc), and no more than 12 ounces
(340 grams) per week.
Pregnant women should also avoid raw and
uncooked fish (including sushi), because it may
contain microorganisms that can harm the fetus.
4. Fish May Increase Grey Matter in the
Brain and Protect it From Age-Related
Deterioration
One of the consequences of ageing is that brain
function often deteriorates (referred to as age-related
cognitive decline).
This is normal in many cases, but then there are
also serious neurodegenerative diseases like
Alzheimer’s disease.
Interestingly, many observational studies have
shown that people who eat more fish have slower
rates of cognitive decline ( 10).
One mechanism could be related to grey matter in
the brain. Grey matter is the major functional tissue
in your brain, containing the neurons that process
information, store memories and make you human.
Studies have shown that people who eat fish every
week have more grey matter in the centers of the
brain that regulate emotion and memory.
5. Fish May Help Prevent and Treat
Depression, Making You a Happier
Person
Depression is a serious and incredibly common
mental disorder.
It is characterized by low mood, sadness, decreased
energy and loss of interest in life and activities.
Although it isn’t talked about nearly as much as
heart disease or obesity, depression is currently one
of the world’s biggest health problems.
Studies have found that people who eat fish
regularly are much less likely to become depressed
( 12).
Numerous controlled trials have also found that
omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial against
depression, and significantly increase the
effectiveness of antidepressant medications ( 13 , 14 ,
15).
What this means is that fish can quite literally
make you a happier person and improve your quality
of life.
Fish and omega-3 fatty acids may also help with
other mental disorders, such as bipolar disorder ( 16 )
6. Fish is The Only Good Dietary Source
of Vitamin D
Vitamin D has received a lot of mainstream
attention in recent years.
This important vitamin actually functions like a
steroid hormone in the body, and a whopping 41.6%
of the US population is deficient in it
Fish and fish products are the best dietary sources of
vitamin D, by far. Fatty fish like salmon and
herring contain the highest amounts
A single 4 ounce (113 gram) serving of cooked
salmon contains around 100% of the recommended
intake of vitamin D ( 19).
Some fish oils, such as cod liver oil, are also very
high in vitamin D, providing more than 200% of the
recommended intake in a single tablespoon ( 20 ).
If you don’t get much sun and don’t eat fatty
fish regularly, then you may want to consider taking
a vitamin D supplement .

How to prevent and control Diabetes

No comments :

When it comes to type 2 diabetes — the mostcommon type of diabetes — prevention is a big
deal. It's especially important to make diabetes
prevention a priority if you're at increased risk of
diabetes, for example, if you're overweight or have
a family history of the disease.
Diabetes prevention is as basic as eating more
healthfully, becoming more physically active and
losing a few extra pounds — and it's never too late
to start. Making a few simple changes in your
lifestyle now may help you avoid the serious health
complications of diabetes down the road, such as
nerve, kidney and heart damage. Consider the latest
diabetes prevention tips from the American Diabetes
Association.
Tip 1: Get more physical activity
There are many benefits to regular physical
activity. Exercise can help you:
Lose weight
Lower your blood sugar
Boost your sensitivity to insulin — which helps
keep your blood sugar within a normal range
Research shows that both aerobic exercise and
resistance training can help control diabetes, but
the greater benefit comes from a fitness program
that includes both.
Tip 2: Get plenty of fiber
It's rough, it's tough — and it may help you:
Reduce your risk of diabetes by improving your
blood sugar control
Lower your risk of heart disease
Promote weight loss by helping you feel full
Foods high in fiber include fruits, vegetables, beans,
whole grains, nuts and seeds.
Tip 3: Go for whole grains
Although it's not clear why, whole grains may
reduce your risk of diabetes and help maintain
blood sugar levels. Try to make at least half your
grains whole grains. Many foods made from whole
grains come ready to eat, including various breads,
pasta products and many cereals. Look for the
word "whole" on the package and among the first
few items in the ingredient list.

Benefits of eating Apple

No comments :
1. Benefit: Nutrition, straight up.
Packing in quite a bit of soluble fiber (4 grams per medium apple) for a modest amount of calories (95) makes apples a filling, sweet snack.
Plus, a medium apple counts as 1 cup of fruit, so after eating one you’re well on your way to meeting your daily fruit quota (around 2 cups for adults on a 2,000-calorie diet). They also are a good source of immune-boosting vitamin C (providing 14% of the Daily Value).
2. Weight Loss
Apples satisfy hunger for few calories so it’s not surprising that they can be part of a healthy diet that promotes weight loss. And in a recent study, dried apples also helped participants lose some weight. Women who ate a cup of dried apples daily for a year lost some weight and lowered their cholesterol and heart disease markers. Florida State University researchers think apples’ antioxidants and pectin (a type of fiber) are responsible for the benefits—and think that fresh apples would be even more effective.
3. Heart Health
The Florida State study is not the only one to link apple consumption to heart health. Last year, the Iowa Women’s Health Study reported that, among the 34,000-plus women it’s been tracking for nearly 20 years, apples were associated with a lower risk of death from both coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease.
Some years earlier, Finnish researchers studying dietary data collected over 28 years from 9,208 men and women found that frequent apple eaters had the lowest risk of suffering strokes compared with nonapple eaters. Experts attribute the heart- healthy benefits to antioxidant compounds found in apples, which help prevent LDL cholesterol from oxidizing and inhibit inflammation. Plus, the soluble fiber in apples has also been shown to lower cholesterol levels.
4. Protect Against Metabolic
Syndrome
People who eat apples may be less likely to suffer from metabolic syndrome, a cluster of symptoms linked to an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes. Joyce Hendley reported in EatingWell Magazine that researchers who analyzed National
Health and Nutrition Examination Study (NHANES) data, a survey of eating and health habits, found that people who had eaten apples in any form over the past day were 27 percent less likely to have symptoms of metabolic syndrome than those who didn’t. The apple eaters also had lower levels of C-reactive protein, a marker of inflammation whose presence in the blood suggests an increased risk for heart disease and diabetes.
5. Exercise Extender
Eating an apple before you work out may boost your exercise endurance. Apples deliver an antioxidant called quercetin, which aids
endurance by making oxygen more available to the lungs. One study showed that quercetin—
when taken in supplement form—helped people bike longer.

[Tips] Easy to Make Healthy Breakfast Ideas "diet & fitness"

No comments :
Breakfast plays a key role in weight management and provides the necessary nutrients for the proper daily functioning of the body. [Tips] 17 Life Secrets and Tips

No comments :
  1. Memorize something everyday. Not only will this leave your brain sharp and your memory functioning, you will also have a huge library of quotes to bust out at any moment. Poetry, sayings and philosophies are your best options.
  2. Constantly try to reduce your attachment to possessions. Those who are heavy-set with material desires will have a lot of trouble when their things are taken away from them or lost. Possessions do end up owning you, not the other way around. Become a person of minimal needs and you will be much more content.
  3. Develop an endless curiosity about this world. Become an explorer and view the world as your jungle. Stop and observe all of the little things as completely unique events. Try new things. Get out of your comfort zone and try to experience as many different environments and sensations as possible. This world has so much to offer, so why not take advantage of it?
  4. Remember people’s names so that they feel appreciated and for your own future benefit when you want something from that person. To do this, say their name back to them when they introduce themselves. Then repeat the name in your head a number of times until you are sure you have it. Continue to use their name in conversation as much as possible to remove any chance of forgetting it. If you’re still having trouble, make up a rhyme about their name: “Dan the Man” or “Natalie flatters me.”
  5. Get fit! It’s ridiculous to think that we have one body, one sole means of functioning, and people are too lazy to take care of themselves. Fit bodies lead to better health, confidence and more success with romantic endeavors. I’d say those are 3 very good reasons to get in shape.
  6. Learn to focus only on the present. The past is unchangeable so it is futile to reflect on it unless you are making sure you do not repeat past mistakes. The future is but a result of your actions today. So learn from the past to do better in the present so that you can succeed in the future.
  7. Even more specifically, live in THIS moment. Even 10 minutes ago is the past. If you live purely in this moment you will always be happy because there is nothing wrong in this split-second.
  8. Smile more often. Whenever you get a grin on your face, your brain is releasing serotonin, the happy hormone. Smiling is the natural way to force yourself to be happy. Many people even smile for five minutes straight in the morning to get themselves in a great mood for the day. It is a very powerful tool that is utilized less and less as we grow older and need happiness more than ever. Just remember that while happiness leads to smiles, smiles also lead to happiness.
  9. Drink water. Hydration is tremendously important for overall health. Soda has absolutely ZERO nutritional content; it’s like pouring a punch of sugar and syrup into your cup. Instead, fill it with life-replenishing water. It may taste plain at first if you’re coming off of a heavy soda-drinking streak, but you’ll soon find yourself addicted to it. 10 glasses per day is optimal, how many have you been getting lately?
  10. Don’t take life so seriously! Learn to laugh at the little things and this whole “existence” thing will be a whole lot easier. Be amused by your mistakes and failures and be thankful that you learned your lesson and won’t mess up like that again. And most importantly do things that you enjoy! Life is not strictly business, it can be mixed with pleasure.
  12. Think positive thoughts. When you find yourself thinking a negative thought, stop it immediately by any means necessary. Slap yourself in the face, yell something positive at the top of your lungs or jump up and down. Do whatever it takes to get back to a positive mindset as such is essential for continual happiness and success.
  13. Read books. Knowledge is power. If you’re looking for some mind-blowing books to read, check out ’8 Books That Will Violent Shift Your Perspective’.
  14. Get in the sun. Superman was completely re-energized when he flew out to space and soaked in some rays and you can do the same right outside your front door (if you live in a constantly dreary place, my apologies). The sun feels amazing: your entire body will be coursing with warmth and life.
  15. Help others.I’ll just give you a plethora of reasons why this is a MUST
    • Helping people has a ripple effect. If you help someone they will feel more obliged to help someone else, and so on. Pay it forward
    • You grow by giving and helping others. It can change you in ways you never expected
    • Your relationship with that person will become stronger
    • It’s the most fulfilling thing you can do on this planet. It not only feels amazing physically, you also feel like a good person
    • You might be able to call in a favor later when you need some help
    • Karma (if you believe in it)
    • Because there are more people in this world than just you
  16. Set aside a specific time to worry each day. Ponder all of your problems and anxieties during that time so that they will not distract you during work or moments of pleasure. This way you can be extremely efficient with your time and avoid focusing on negative things as much as possible. If you get all of your worry out of the way and have the mental fortitude to keep from reverting back to them, you will be much happier on the daily.
  17. Be honest at all times. Lies lead to nothing but trouble. Being known as trustworthy is an excellent trait to maintain and essential to having integrity.

This New Natural Testosterone Booster Has Men Everywhere Raving

No comments :
Wow... I'm getting old.
It's a disturbing thought, one that usually hits after an unexpected physical challenge — like weaker workouts, slower recovery, or not performing in the bedroom the way you used to.
And though you may not "feel old," you know you don't look or feel like the man you used to be.
The issue? You might not have enough free testosterone
A person's bloodstream contains two types of testosterone: bonded testosterone and free testosterone. Bonded testosterone attaches to molecules in the body and is mostly ineffective. However, free testosterone can enter your cells easily and plays a vital role in libido, strength, stamina, and vitality.
While the market is flooded with questionable options for increasing a man's free testosterone levels, a group of researchers in Boston, Massachusetts have developed a dietary supplement that's different. It triggers the body to increase its levels of free testosterone naturally and safely.
Called Nugenix, the supplement primarily relies on an ingredient called Testofen®, which has been shown in clinical trials to boost free testosterone levels, increase sex drive, and improve libido. Adding to Nugenix's potency are additional key ingredients like zinc and vitamins B12 and B6, which have been shown to improve physical performance and strength, increase drive, and aid in recovery.
Nugenix has no harmful side effects, and has been shown to deliver improvements in strength and endurance in as little as a week. According to studies held in both Irvine, California and Queensland, Australia, users reported greater muscle definition and quicker recovery times, increased sex drive, and feelings of alertness.

Tips On How to be successful in Jamb 2014 Examination and Score 270 and Above

No comments :
How to be successful in Jamb 2014 Examination and Score 270 and Above
Tips 1. Following the words of the JAMB Registrar after the 2013 exercise, Prof Dibu Ojerinde said: “We have gone digital in JAMB.” What he meant by ‘going digital’ is that the Jamb 2014/2015 UTME examination is likely to be a Computer Based Test. to avoid surprises in the exam hall, we encourage participants to learn how to operate a computer system which is as simple as ABC. In the examination hall, your computer will be “timed” when it reached the allotted time, it will switch off, even if you have not answer any question! So the call to be fast is needed.

Tips 2. All admission seeking candidates in the Jamb 2014, mostly candidates within the South-Eastern environs are advice to make early registrations for the JAMB 2014/2015 UTME to avoid missing out on available centers. Last session (Jamb 2013), with the record number of 1.8 Million candidates who participated in the examination, Centres were exhausted in the within three months of registrations, and late registrants were pushed to the North, north east and north central zones of the country to take their examinations. (if you are not in the north, i know you don’t want to risk going to the North to write your jamb exam, due to the Boko Haram animals) A lot of candidates miss the last year jamb exercise due to this problem, so we encourage you to purchase the form as soon as possible.

Tips 3. Applicants who wrote the JAMB 2013/2014 UTME examination and selected the Paper and Pencil Type (PPT) were basically Victims of inefficiency of marking by the board, with majority of them, being forced to settle with scores that are not theirs, we therefore advice candidates applying for the JAMB 2014/2015 UTME to thread carefully, on what to type of exam to select, we recommend the Computer Based Test (CBT) and if you are good with computer, then there is no need to be scared of it. From last year experience, a lot of candidates who wrote last year jamb and choose CBT came out with flying colours. it is up to you which one you want to go for. But thread carefully…

Tips 4. From statistic, over 1.8 Million Nigerian Students registered and participated in the JAMB 2013/2014 UTME exercise, and not more than 450,000 of these students were admitted, together with over 1.2 million students leaving our various high schools, due to the low amount to candidates who are offered admission last year, we are very sure more than 2 million candidates will participate in the JAMB 2014-2015 UTME exams. We therefore advice candidates to prepare for the competitions. One way to beat it is to Jack your book (read your book).

Tips 5. The JAMB 2014 candidates are advised to stay away from the Most Selected Institutions as outlined below;
• University Of Lagos (Unilag)
• University Of Benin (Uniben)
• University Of Nigeria (UNN)
• University Of Ilorin (Unilorin)
• Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. (Unizik)
• Federal University of Technology, Owerri (Futo)
• University of Ibadan (UI)
• University of Port Harcourt (Uniport)

This are popular-one of the popular- institutions in Nigeria. The reason why we advice that you stay away from this universities is to boost your chances of admission, not because you are not intelligent, but because admission slots are very limited, the competition in these institutions is higher and if it is not your catchment area, then your chance of getting admitted is equal to zero. But still, if you must choose any of the above institutions, please also look for Universities that accept 2nd choice and that are not too competitive. Take note of this as you will remember it when Admission commence. Now success tips 6 will show us courses that are very competitive and why you have to ignore them…

Tips 6. All candidates seeking Admission into Tertiary Institutions via the JAMB 2014/2015 UTME exercise are advice to be very careful in their selection of courses, it is no news that the following courses have the highest number of applicants.
• Medicine And Surgery
• Economics
• Accounting
• Law/Civil Law
• Pharmacy etc.
• Mechanical Engr/civil/elect elect etc.

Selecting one of the above means you will be competing with thousands of candidates for the space, which is likely not up to hundreds in all the Institutions. But if you are however interested in any of the above courses, you must learn how to balance your selections appropriately to increase your chances of getting admitted. Ensure you also select courses that has few number of candidates, and by so ding, you can be sure of your Admission and if you so please, you can apply for change of course after been admitted. This is as to boost your chances of admission, not because you are not intelligent, but because slots are limited, competition is higher and you are getting older, plus, ASUU would make you age before time, hence, make hay while the sun shine.

Tips 7. It is important also that you know the accreditation status of the course(s) you want to apply for in the choice Institutions before submitting your application.

What is Accreditation of course?
Some university offer courses that has not been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), and if you end up in one of those departments, you would have wasted your years for nothing! Because you won’t be given any original certificate! For example; Medicine and Surgery has NOT been accredited in the Benue State University, BSUM and many others Universities, and candidates who is admitted into BSUM will end up spending 8+ years in vain.

How will you know if your course has been accredited in your choice institution?
You can know this from the Jamb 2014 Brochure that will be given to you when you purchase the Jamb 2014-2015 UTME Form. Also you can drop your comment and we will let you know if you are good to go.

Tips 8. Most Institutions requires a cut-off of 240 in the JAMB-UTME. (example of such institution is University of Ilorin) the minimum cut off for Medicine in Unilorin is 240 and 220+ for major courses, while admission at the University of Ibadan and Unilag begins with your O-Level results, therefore, its very important that you have the basic requirements of the Institution before applying for admission. In fact, this apply to almost all the Institutions in Nigeria. Ensure you have your COMPLETE O’LEVEL RESULTS for your chosen courses before buying Jamb, if you don’t have… you are only going to frustrate yourself. Even when you are admitted, you will be screen out after they collect your acceptance fee and school fee.

Tips 9. DO NOT apply for admission into Institutions outside your catchment areas, else, you risk your chance of being admitted. what are catchment areas? more on this;

Tips 10. Take note: Once you have submitted your application form for the JAMB 2014/2015 UTME, there is no more opportunity to initial any change, therefore, we advice candidates to check all the fields properly, including passport, names, first and second institutions, finger prints before submission, because all would be verified before you are admitted for the JAMB 2014 Examination.

We wish you all the best!

Relationships!!! Tips To Know When You are Being Lied to

No comments :
Whether it is a polite comment of untruth “I love your new hairstyle!” or an omission of information, it is a known fact that everyone lies. Humans begin honing their skills of deceit around the age of 4. We quickly learn that we can use these skills in attempts to stay out of trouble and manipulate some situations to our benefit.
Lying during a poker game is expected. Lying to your partner can be the kiss of death to your relationship. If you are lying, you are likely hiding something, and/or trying to avoid conflict which isn’t going to magically resolve itself and disappear.
If you are being lied to, you are going to want to know.
There is no surefire way to tell if you are being deceived, but there are some pretty standard signs that can be indicators, if you know what to look out for.
Novice liars typically exhibit signs of nervousness when laying the foundation for their web of lies. The more practice someone has at lying, the less nervous and fidgety that person will be, so your best chance is if you are dealing with an unprofessional.
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Sweating profusely (when not exerting themselves physically)
  • Fidgety
  • Dilated pupils
  • Rise in vocal pitch
Liar’s stories often lack details because it is less for them to remember. If the story you are being told sounds vague, press for more details and ask repetitive questions periodically to see if the story changes.
When someone is lying, there is a good chance they will intentionally avoid making eye contact.
If you think you are being lied to, pause before answering or asking questions when engaged in conversation. If someone is lying, they most likely cannot wait for the conversation to be over, so any pause that will lengthen the conversation is unwanted and gives you increased opportunity to see if there is a visible increase in their stress level.
One reason liars are so successful is because they know what it is that their victims want to hear. Ask yourself if their story actually makes sense?
Know your partner. Any change in non-standard behavior is a sign that something out of the ordinary is up.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubaka dumps PDP for APC in Nigeria

No comments :
Atiku1dp-300x239The former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will mid next week dump his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
We gathered yesterday that the decision to take the action and leave the party which gave him a platform to be Nigeria’s Vice President, was borne out of the frustration and humiliation the PDP has made him go through, just as he has concluded nationwide consultative tours of the six geo- political zones of the country where he brainstormed with stakeholders, leaders and supporters on his next political journey ahead of 2015 Presidential election.
A source at his Jabi office told us yesterday that Atiku Abubakar has concluded plans to leave PDP for APC, adding, “ I am optimistic that he will formally leave PDP for APC next week,”
The 2011 Presidential aspirant on the platform of PDP has in the last two weeks visited associates, stakeholders, leaders, Elders in the South South, South East, South West, North Central, North West and North East geo- political zones of the country where majority of them voted for him leaving PDP for APC. Atiku had raised some grievances against the PDP and substantiated his marginalization of not being wanted, even as he stressed that he is a BOT member by right but he is not being called to its meetings and so does not attend, adding that he is a NEC member by right under the constitution, but he has been barred from its meetings because invitations are not given to him.
He also complained that by the norms of the party, he is entitled to being invited to its PDP caucus and said that Dr. Alex Ekwueme, a former Vice President gets those invitations, but he gets none of those, adding that he is not considered as a major stakeholder in taking decisions affecting the Adamawa State Chapter of the party.
Atiku had said last week that, “there is a sustained effort by the party managers and government to entrench impunity and not to open up the party for democratic competition. Above all these, it is clear by now that the Governors who have remained in the party have given Dr. Jonathan an automatic ticket.”
The former Presidential candidate of Action Congress, ACN said last week that as a member of a party that changed to Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and formed a coalition called APC, he will not be a new person in APC as that is a familiar terrain if he finally joins them because his friends are mostly there and as a party, it offers what he described as a real chance for change and reform in the country.
He said, “The citizens are tired of business as usual and seem determined to change from business as usual. He wants to be on the side of the people.”
In a statement he issued last week and titled, “The Challenges of a Decision,” the former Presidential aspirant on the platform of PDP noted that he has begun consultation tour of Nigeria, Dubai and London, even as he said that there was what he termed a sustained effort by the party managers and government to entrench impunity and its lack of preparedness to open up the party for democratic competition, adding that his decision to defect to APC may be borne out of the fact that Governors elected on the platform of PDP have already given an automatic ticket to President Goodluck Jonathan for his re- election bid.
Meanwhile, a statement from his office to Saturday Vanguard yesterday said that the former Vice President yesterday concluded his nationwide consultative meeting with that of the North-East geo-political zone in Bauchi.
