Eagles
Togo coach Tom Saintfiet has included Rivers
United starlet Yaovi Douhadji in his squad for
next week’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
against Tunisia.
The young defender who has been awe-inspiring
for the Port Harcourt based Nigeria Professional
Football League outfit will be hoping to make
his international debut for the Hawks.
“I am very happy to get this chance to play for
my country. It is the dream of every footballer
to defend the colours of his country,” Douhadji
told Rivers United media.
“This is the first time I will be playing for my
country and the games against the Tunisians
will be big matches.
“I thank the coach for his faith in me and I
promise not to let him down.”
Togo face Tunisia at the Stade Olympique de
Radès, Radès on March 26 with the reverse
leg holding three days later at Stade de Kégué,
Lomé.
Saintfiet’s men lead Group A’s Afcon
qualifying zone with six points after two games.
