Chelsea boss advised to "sell" Hazard & Oscar
Former Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez has made
the bizarre move of telling his successor to sell two of his best
players ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to the Daily Star the Spanish
coach had a few words of advice for Jose Mourinho, the bulk of which
focused around selling both Eden Hazard and Oscar. The high-flying
Chelsea pair, who have both been in sensational form this season, have
been targeted by Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks, and Mourinho
responded by insisting that he would only sell them for £300million.However Benitez thinks that letting go of both men would be a good idea if the Stamford Bridge boss is looking to build a team, and he even went as far as naming the price.
According to the Star Benitez said: “Maybe if Mourinho sells Hazard and Oscar for £300m and builds a team, it will come to something.”
Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with PSG Mourinho will likely take his counterpart’s comments and disregard them completely, however it is an interesting idea.
Of course both Hazard and Oscar have been key-figures in the Blues squad this term, but would the team benefit from not relying on their individual attributes?
